FIRST GENERATION, THE PONY CAR ERA

 

  
1965 pre-series

 

  Everything began February 23, during the presentation of the firebird 1967 to the public. This is the fisrt Firebird Generation and already 5 differents versions available: Base, Sprint, 326, 326 HO and 400. All had the "bucket seat" as standard equipment. The 67 'can be recognized by the small triangular glass at the exterior mirrors and also to the 2x3 vertical vents located behind the doors and in the front of the rear wheels.

                       

  The Sprint was powered by an inline 6 (230ci) from 155 to 215HP. The Firebird had 326 V8 250hp while the 326 HO developed 285hp.meanwhile 400 had 325HP.

           
                       

                   

The place of assembly of F-body is the Norwood plant in Ohio.
