T/A GOLD SPECIALE EDITION (1978), by PONTIAC
In response to the success of the T/A Black Edition, the Gold Special Edition is distinguished by inverted colors, namely black edging on a Gold body coded Y88. Appeared in midyear, most of the Gold SE were built at Norwood and had a slightly different color (more pure) than those produced in Van Huys which drew a little shade on the green. The Solar gold paint used on California was a water-based paint formulated to meet the state's stricter air quality laws. Hurst T-Top is standard on the 8676 Gold SE occurs six months of existence.
In 1979, GOLD color still exist but not as a special option, just regular option.
